A new class of buyer

By Matt Lancashire

The level of confidence in Brisbane’s prestige market is unprecedented. I’m fielding enquiries from interstate and local buyers, all searching for a premium calibre of home. A recent string of $20m-plus property sales is an indicator of what’s to come, as the appetite for trophy homes across the city soars.

Four Brisbane properties have broken the $20m barrier since 2023, including the $23m sale of 32 Sutherland Ave, Ascot which last year set a new price record. The majority of these listings are riverfront, yet many of my high-net-worth buyers are open to postcode options, as long as the property itself satisfies their demands.

This is a new class of buyer, one which Brisbane has never hosted before. They have the capital, and recognise the value of a market which up until now has been less than active. These buyers are willing to spend with confidence, and are engaging the country’s most impressive architects and engineers to deliver world-class homes.

There’s a robust trust in the prosperity and future of the city, which has been solidified with confirmation of Olympic venue and infrastructure projects. Never has there been a more exciting time to be in Brisbane.

It’s a reminder to be grateful for the wonderful lifestyle, opportunities and freedoms we have as, this ANZAC Day, we honour the men and women who have served our country.

I hope you enjoyed the read.
