It’s little surprise to me that Brisbane’s making a defining mark on the global stage, be it sporting success, tech and innovation, or in this case, hospitality. Leading the way when it comes to forging our city’s wining and dining reputation is the incredibly impressive Anyday Group.
Anyday’s latest baby is the once hugely popular Agnes Bakery, relocated and reimagined into a 36-seater bakery-cafe called Idle. This place is all about comfort and connection, where everything is made by hand, fresh each morning, and washed down with a quality cup of Single O coffee. Sample everything from morning croissants to charcoal-roasted chicken, fresh salads, and thoughtful pantry staples. It’s pretty much what we all know and love about Agnes, but more.
If you’ve got a spare moment, I suggest a visit to this New Farm hotspot, not just for the food but to appreciate the design and fit-out, where glass, concrete and stainless steel converge. Designed by Tamsin Johnson, Idle balances sleek industrial forms softened by rich finishes, 1980s Italian futurist lighting and custom terrazzo tiles. This truly beautiful space is open daily from 7am, at 84 Merthyr Rd, New Farm.
Do yourself a favour and drop by, early if you can, to find out for yourself what all the hype is about. And congratulations to Ty and the Anyday Group team on yet another winning offering. You’re continuing to shape Brisbane in the best way possible.
I hope you enjoy the read.
