The one auction event you don’t want to miss

In a pre-pandemic age, when Queenslanders fainted at the thought of selling via auction which meant only around 10 to 15 per cent of listings ever went the way of falling under the hammer, we were doing things differently. The event was called ‘Auction Under the Stars’ and it drew Brisbane’s biggest property buyers and sellers into talking shop to a backdrop of twinkling festoon lights decorating our Ray White New Farm carpark.

All those years ago, when the state’s weekly auction clearance rates raised an eyebrow for struggling to break 35%, we drove industry change by reinventing how auctions here were run. We created a strong process around teasing out competition and actioned the greatest showcase of how to market properties to the masses, on one night, in one location.

Eight years on, The Collective (which includes Ray White New Farm, Ray White Bulimba, Ray White Toowong and Ray White Clayfield) is so incredibly proud to invite you to our flagship bi-annual Auction Under the Stars event to be held on Monday, May 22 at Howard Smith Wharves from 6pm.

This almost iconic community-based auction event offers the perfect snapshot of what’s happening in the market. It draws buyers and sellers into a pressure-free environment where up to 50 properties have been known to be on the order for sale. This market-leading in-room auction event also highlights the supreme advantage of selling with The Collective, where one in three deals are secured by referral within the group.

I personally will have a number of properties going under the hammer at next month’s Auction Under the Stars, including a select few always-popular turnkey New Farm residences. My best mate, and Queensland’s most loved auctioneer, Haesley Cush will be working his usual magic with the hammer, while directors and partners from each of The Collective’s businesses are to be covering the floor. We welcomed more than 100 bidders at our most recent Auction Under the Stars event and expect more of the same, if not better, on May 22.

I hope you enjoy the read.
