The best thing that’s happened to me this week isn’t a $20.5M sale

Priceless is the arrival of our healthy baby girl this week. My wife Caity and I are so incredibly blessed to have our mighty tribe now complete with the birth of our fourth child, Goldie Pearl Lancashire. There is simply nothing quite like welcoming one of your own into the world and I couldn’t be prouder of Caity, or more grateful. I’ve won the jackpot.

Paling by comparison, but nonetheless extremely significant in regards to Brisbane’s property landscape is the sale of ‘Amity’, a world-class property deserving of its record $20.5M contract. It’s been a privilege to negotiate on behalf of the sellers who have owned the riverfront New Farm home for the past 25 years.

It’s also a milestone for our team at Ray White The Collective, as we’ve been chasing this new city record since breaking it in 2017 with the $18.48M sale of 1 Leopard St, Kangaroo Point. The sale of Amity, at 101 Welsby St, proves yet again the power of collaboration via The Collective which includes Ray White New Farm, Ray White Bulimba, Ray White Toowong, Ray White Clayfield, Ray White East Brisbane, Ray White Spring Hill and Living Here Cush Partners.

This strength in numbers will be significant as we knuckle down on securing a buyer for what will inevitably be Brisbane’s most expensive apartment, an iconic riverfront penthouse in nearby Newstead which has been listed for the first time in 15 years with my esteemed industry colleague, Sarah Hackett of Place Estate Agents. The 1060sq m four-bedroom penthouse apartment (One Pier) is located in Mirvac’s $10b ‘Pier’ development at 250/1 Newstead Tce and comes with its own heated infinity pool, sauna and wine cellar, with 52m of direct water frontage. Expressions of interest close on May 30.

So, yes, it’s been a mammoth week in the Lancashire household for more reasons than one although holding my new daughter in my arms puts even the most expensive residential sale in Brisbane’s history into perspective.

Keep your loved ones close and have a great weekend.

I hope you enjoy the read.
