Back in the day, when selling a Brisbane property under the hammer was taboo and weekly clearance rates struggled to hit 30 per cent, Ray White New Farm made the bold call to become an auction house.
Haesley Cush and I decided to create an auction culture from scratch, featuring regular in-room auctions before expanding to exclusive selling events at Brisbane Powerhouse, QA Hotel, and now The Calile.
We believed and trusted in the process, in the structure and the strategy. Our vendors started to see the opportunities and the results. To this day, nothing has changed.
Last weekend delivered our In Room Auction Event at The Calile Hotel, where seven out of the eight properties that went under the hammer sold on the day. More than $17 million worth of real estate transacted, with the biggest result being a $6.01 million contract on a listing of mine at 98 Windermere Rd, Hamilton. I also managed the sale of a four-bedroom property at 31 Kitchener Rd, Ascot, under the hammer for $3.9 million.
Our secret is simple: showcasing select listings to a captive, vetted audience. Competition and negotiation do the rest.
Before I leave you for another week, a shout-out to my mate Haes on another sensational Brisbane Markets Mango Auction. You know summer isn’t far off when this iconic annual tradition rolls around. This year, a whopping $66,000 bid secured the symbolic first mango tray of the season, with proceeds going towards The Lady Musgrave Trust and Redkite. Congratulations to all involved!
I hope you enjoy the read.
