Anyday’s world-class CBD experience

A beautiful slice of the Middle East has dropped into the heart of Brisbane, and I’m not mad about it, particularly when it’s born from the same inspiring collective behind Agnes and sAme sAme. I know I’ve been raving about Anyday’s latest ventures lately, but when they continue to reshape Brisbane’s dining landscape in such a spectacular way, the praise is deserved.

Newly launched, with an exclusive “family and friends” night, is Golden Avenue, at 67 Edward St, Brisbane City. I had the privilege of going to the family and friends opening last night and without hesitation, it truly is a world-class fit out and experience. It’s one of those “see it to believe it” spaces, so I’ll borrow from Anyday’s own words to paint the picture:

Golden Avenue sits just off the street in Brisbane’s CBD but feels a world away once you’re inside.

Our hosts meet you at the door and guide you through a sprawl of stone, tile and twists of green. Move between granite, off-form concrete, stainless steel, and sprawling skylights all brought together by the bold, people-focused eye of J.AR Office.

A mosaic of influence runs from the walls to the stove, drawn from the breadth of Middle Eastern cuisine and tiled together by Culinary Director Ben Williamson, Executive Chef Adam Wolfers and Head Chef Tim Yates.

The kitchen isn’t hidden, it’s part of the theatre. Doors open to flames and smoke, dishes rolling out fast. Mezze hits the table full of colour. Grilled plates arrive blistered and bright. Desserts carry spice and surprise.

The drinks follow suit. The wine list leans global to give shape, texture, and intent. We’ve made sure the quirks are as thoughtful as the classics. Cocktails are precise and quick-witted, always tuned to the room.

Beyond the restaurant, there’s GA, Golden Avenue’s standalone walk-in bar. Tucked beside the main venue with its own entrance, it offers 130+ bottles, small plates pulled from the same fire-driven kitchen (fried quail, fresh oysters, dips, fire-baked bread), and a music program curated by Anyday’s Creative Director of Music, Graz Mulcahy, including live DJs on select nights.

Need space? Golden Avenue also features a private dining room for up to 26 guests, with larger options in the mezzanine and courtyard. You can even book the full venue for events of up to 155 people.

This marks Anyday’s first venture into the CBD – and it won’t be their last. If this is any indication, Brisbane City is on its way to becoming just as much a destination as James Street.

And we’re all the better for it.

I hope you enjoy the read.
