Only an agent who has personally experienced the process of design and build can truly understand and appreciate the stress, time, decision fatigue, and intricate details involved in such a project.
I’m currently in the thick of developing my own home in New Farm, which means daily conversations with all stakeholders on issues relating to construction, trades, and costings.
This isn’t my first build, nor will it be my last, but it will be my greatest so far as I’ve once again joined forces with architect Shaun Lockyer – the genius behind many of Southeast Queensland’s most beautiful properties. I’ve worked with Shaun for decades, selling almost 20 properties he has designed.
Our most recent sale together was perhaps the most emotional, at least for Shaun and his wife, Julie, who let go of their family home after 22 years of renovations and memories.
I was so pleased to have sold 12 Rosewood Street, Bardon, known as The Lighthouse, after just nine days on the market for $2.8 million. The deal was secured following the property’s first open home, which welcomed 28 groups of buyers. In just one week, there were 6,000 online views and three written offers. A family with young children, returning from Canada, ultimately secured the keys.
If you’ve ever wanted a Shaun Lockyer home, this original has to be one of the best, and also one of the most affordable. I write more than $300 million in sales annually, and Shaun Lockyer–designed properties contribute a fair share of that. Prestige home sales ($5m+) are no longer rare across Queensland, as buyers recognise the value of a quality architectural residence and are willing to pay for it.
Congratulations to Shaun and Julie on a wonderful outcome. It was a pleasure to play a part in the process, and I wish you all the best with your new project in Teneriffe.
I hope you enjoy the read.
